To me, Beowulf meets the requirements of a hero because he goes from town to town taking out the monsters that bring death upon that town. His stories are known from country to country, and he is the one the people rely on to destroy these monsters. They know that he fears no man nor monster. Beowulf is the fearless warrior that comes to save the day, eventhough he does it for a price. Beowulf would not make a good character for an educational game because he does his job for a price. A real hero should do for his town or other towns because he feels it is his duty to protect the public. Also, his killing tactics are a bit vulgar. So, if a little kid plays a game with a character like Beowulf, I feel like it would lead them to be violent, eventhough it's just a game. The qualities of a good hero in a game would be courage, respectful, kind, strong, and an obsession to do the right thing only for the glory of seeing the public safe and happy.
